Born in Glasgow and growing up in beautiful Scotland, near the sea, she was educated at Eyemouth High School where her love of the outdoors was cultivated. Mrs Lillywhite has farming in her bones, officially born and bred into the beef, sheep and arable world with her family and later on she share farmed on the National Trust property Hardwick Hall.
On leaving school she initially became a microbiologist before taking a leap of faith with her passion of being outdoors and worked as a mountain guide in Spain for a number of years. On returning to the UK she went to Loughborough University and obtained a BSc in Industrial Design and Technology with Education and entered the world of teaching in the Midlands. Stepping up the career ladder with aplomb saw her work in Germany as an Assistant Head with service children and then return to the UK to sit on the Senior Leadership Teams at a number of secondary schools before her appointment at Brymore.
Mrs Lillywhite loves walking her two dogs on the local Exmoor and Quantock Hills. An interesting background of hobbies including competing competitively at clay pigeon shooting in her 20’s and breeding her own hunters a decade ago truly shows the diversity our Director of Boarding brings to the school. Mrs Lillywhite loves the ethos of Brymore and what it does for the young people that are educated here and she is also passionate about the vocational aspects on offer.
