Food and farming campaign

From field to fork…Securing the future of food and farming.

We recently ran a campaign to try and ensure that Land Based BTECs counted in the school league tables because from 2015 they will no longer count and therefore the knock on effect for schools like Brymore is huge as it will jeopardise our results. Mr Thomas met with a number of Members of Parliament, including David Laws, and featured on a number of news items with the BBC, ITV and local radio to try and fight the unjust removal of these qualifications. Ultimately the government has not changed it’s stance but the school has vowed to continue offering BTEC qualifications in Agriculture and Horticulture despite our good position in the school league tables being at risk.

Should you wish to read more about the campaign we ran in 2013 then more information can be found in our booklet here.
