Bridgwater College has been working closely with Brymore for over five years and we were delighted when we were asked to sponsor Brymore in 2013. We very much recognise the unique nature of Brymore, with its boarding facilities, the mix of academic and vocational education with an emphasis on land based studies, technology and sport.
As the sponsor we have considerable experience having been rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted for the past 12 years. The land based centre at Cannington is recognised nationally for its innovative practice, our recently opened Energy Skills centre provides state of the art engineering facilities and links with business’s such as Rolls Royce and EDF Energy and many of our sports teams, including rugby, successfully compete in national competitions.
We will look to build on the links that have already been established. Brymore boys currently use the Cannington Centre for arboriculture, fishing, horticulture and golf. They study engineering at the Bridgwater centre where year 12 students also complete ‘A’-levels.
We are very excited by the potential benefits and opportunities that can be provided to the Academy by our sponsorship, including new curriculum opportunities utilising state-of-the-art facilities in the College, additional extra-curricular activities for all age groups, joint staff development programmes and making the most of economies of scale through joint financial and purchasing services.
We are very proud to be the sponsors of Brymore and look forward to working with the Academy staff, parents and local employers to create and deliver an exceptional experience for the boys so that they reach their potential academically and personally.
