FOBSA – Friends of Brymore School Association

FOBSA exists to support the school by raising funds to provide ’extra’ items that enhance the boys’ life at school and support for school activities which otherwise might not be funded. There is no formal ‘membership’ and everyone is welcome to get involved – parents, relatives and friends. FOBSA is a great opportunity to be involved in school life, to make contact with parents, governors and staff and to keep in touch with what is going on at Brymore.

Tea and Cake…? Each year around £6,000 is contributed to school. FOBSA raises this money through a programme of events, primarily providing refreshments at the annual Brymore Open Day (the last Saturday in June); the New Parents’ Hog Roast; Cross Country and Sports Days and Bingo nights. FOBSA members make copious amounts of tea, coffee, hot soup and wonderful home-made cakes at events throughout the year, including cross-country and other sporting events and at Saturday pick-ups, providing welcome refreshment and an opportunity to socialise.

Support FOBSA… Please support FOBSA in whatever way you can – coming along to help serve teas, providing cakes, donating raffle-prizes or contributing your boys’ outgrown uniform (which FOBSA will make available to purchase at the Open Day). And if nothing else enjoy the refreshments which FOBSA makes available – and donate generously! – all the funds raised go towards school and the boys’ enjoyment of school life.

How to get Involved… The Chair of FOBSA is Jo Walsh-Quantick; introduce yourself at any event or just come along to a FOBSA meeting – dates are publicised in the school newsletter or sent our via text. Meetings are usually held on a Friday afternoon so it is easier for any parent to come plus with the use of email and social media the committee can liaise throughout the year without having to have lots of meetings.
