Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant
26.25 hours per week, 33 weeks per year (term time plus INSET days)
Salary: Grade 15 (points 9 to 13), Actual salary: £7,835 – £8,404
Brymore Academy is seeking to appoint a skilled, specialist TA with experience and knowledge of working with students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will be managed by the SENCo and work within the SEND team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for both supporting individual students, encouraging their engagement in learning, and assessing, planning and delivering emotional literacy interventions to support targeted groups of students with SEMH.
To be considered for this inclusive role, you should:
Have proven experience working with children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Have a sound knowledge of strategies and interventions to support children with SEMH in an educational environment.
Have a calm, positive attitude and be a clear, confident communicator.
Be able to build and develop trusting, professional relationships with students and staff.
