Positive research results

The State Boarding Schools Association undertook a large scale research project with the UK State Boarding School parents recently. The results confirmed what we, at Brymore, already know and that is that most parents believe we can offer high academic quality, the chance for children to fulfil their potential and good value according to a new independent survey.

The surveys were carried out at 29 of the 35 state boarding schools in the UK, including Brymore, and parents surveyed said their children were happy boarding and they would recommend their child’s school and boarding to others.

Head, Mr Mark Thomas, felt the findings were accurate based on the feedback received by Brymore parents year on year.

Survey findings included:

  • 93% of parents said their children were happy boarding
  • 95% of parents said they would recommend their child’s school or boarding to others
  • Over 80% of parents choose state boarding schools because of high academic quality and the chance for children to fulfil their potential
  • One in three parents said state boarding schools offers value and helps children go to a good university or find a good job
