Brymore helping local primary

Positive research results
The State Boarding Schools Association undertook a large scale research project with the UK State Boarding School parents recently. The results confirmed what we, at Brymore, already know and that is that most parents believe we can offer high academic quality, the chance for children to fulfil their potential and good value according to a new independent survey. Students raise money for Macmillan
Staff and Students took part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise money for this national cancer charity. With staff baking and bringing in cakes to be sold at break time there was a buzz around the school that the boys knew they were taking part in something important. With over £100 raised for the charity Brymore has hopefully helped Macmillan with it’s big fundraising efforts.

We recently held our annual Year 11 leaver service and prizegiving. Successful Open Day
Brymore held it’s annual Open Day and Country Fair on Saturday 28 June to a few heavy rain showers but bookended by glorious sunshine and high spirits. Food & Farming at Wincanton
A number of boys were given the opportunity to visit Wincanton Racecourse for a Food and Farming special race day on Sunday 23rd March. With a number of high profile jockeys, such as Richard Johnson and Robert Thornton, in attendance alongside local trainer Paul Nicholls it gave the boys a chance to really soak up the atmosphere and rub shoulders with the horse racing world. Olympian at Brymore
We have been delighted to welcome Olympian and Commonwealth pistol shooting medallist Georgina Geike to Brymore. Georgina gave a talk to the boys about her journey to becoming an Olympian and how she is firmly setting her sights on the Rio Olympics in 2016 where she is chasing a medal. Run Team Brymore Run
Mr Bagshaw, Mrs Austin, Miss Rundle and Mr Mahon are all running the Bath Half Marathon in aid of the Stroke Association on 2 March 2014 and are looking for people to dig deep and sponsor them to complete the 13.1 miles of the race. Modern Pentathlon Day
Brymore are working with Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP) to provide a Modern Pentathlon Development Day on Sunday 23rd March for children aged 12 upwards. We are welcoming back Olympic Pistol Shooter Georgina Geikie to help coach on the day along with providing fencing and running technique sessions. Ski trip report
Twenty three boys, Mr and Mrs Ball and Mr Ashton departed from Gatwick for the Italian mountains in Bormio at the start of the Christmas holidays, looking forward to the annual Brymore ski trip.
