Pastoral

All students will be part of a vertical tutor group (each group will have students from each year group) who meet twice a week with their tutor. They also will be allocated to a house, Galsworthy, Taylor or Walker and it will be the Head of House, along with the tutor, who will monitor rewards and behaviour during the school day.

There is a senior member of staff, Miss Doble, who meets with each Head of House daily in order to support where necessary. The Heads of House are:

Galsworthy            Mrs Blake

Taylor                      Miss Carter

Walker                    Miss Rundle

All students are also attached to a boarding house, and so will have daily contact with their house parent who will oversee their welfare after school and during the evening, along with Mr Watts (Head of Boarding) and Mrs Featherstone (Deputy Head of Boarding).

We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all Brymore boys. We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice.

Many students will also be allocated support through the learning support team during the school day. Please see our Local Offer of SEN which is published under the Policies/Statutory Information section of our website for more information about the type of learning support we offer at Brymore. We have a school counsellor who comes in twice a week to work with individual students and a team of Matrons who take care of students who are unwell and administer any regular medications.
