Brymore celebrates 60 years!
As Brymore School begins its diamond jubilee celebration year we welcomed the class of 1952 who returned to visit us. The Brymore Boys along with the first Deputy Head, Alan Hemming, were greeted by some of the current students and the Head, Mark Thomas, before being given a personalised tour of the school as it is now along with some tea and cake with the Senior Student Leadership Team.
Best GCSE results ever
I am pleased to report that the boys of Year 11 have achieved the highest GCSE results in the schools history. A staggering 88% of students achieved 5 A*-C grades, which compares to 65% last year which was also our best ever at the time. School Racewalkers through to National Championships
Three Brymore students have been selected to represent Somerset in the prestigious English Schools National Racewalkers Championships. Hot from their victories at the South-West Racewalker Championships in June Gareth Stockton and Huw Edwards were instant choices for the Somerset team at the nationals. New Head Boy chosen at Brymore
A new Head Boy and his Deputies has been chosen for Brymore. Oliver Herrington went through a rigorous selection process which included a presentation to the whole school and a nerve-wracking interview with the Headteacher, Deputy Head and outgoing Head Boy. Brymore Success at County Young Farmers Rally
Brymore School notched up two winners, a second and a third at the recent Somerset Young Farmers Annual Calf Rally. A small group of Brymore students travelled to Bristol on the day with their livestock to show them for judging. Smiles and tears at annual prize giving
The leaver’s service and annual prize giving left many with smiles on their faces and tears in their eyes in equal measure at Brymore School recently culminating in an al fresco lunch for the parents in the sunshine. Open Farm Sunday
For the first time in our history, Brymore School is taking part in Open Farm Sunday, a national scheme to get the public visiting their local farms to see how they run and where their food is produced.
