COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

We are following all the government guidance as it comes out and will communicate with parents through the MyEd app and via text messages.

Currently government information is changing rapidly so please keep an eye on their up to date changes on the gov.uk website. Please report all Covid positive tests to the school reception and isolate until your son has two negative tests after day 5, our Reception team can give you further details should you need them but please ensure you let us know if there is a positive test.

Please see here for information on the management of COVID-19 in school age children as it is vital that you do not send your child to school if they have any of the following symptoms and follow the guidance in the management document and call 119 for further advice:

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

At the end of December new information on returning to school in 2021 was announced and the letter from Mr Thomas explaining what will happen at Brymore can be located here.

On October 31st the government announced further measures and an update from Mr Thomas on 5th November can be viewed here and the 4th November can be seen here

We have updated our guidance around boarding should we get a case or symptoms within a ‘household’ the letters outlining this can be found here and here.

We have set up a new ONLINE LEARNING page in the unfortunate event that a year group needs to be sent home or that the school closes; please can parents look at this should this be the case.
